What do I actually pay if I win?
Your winning bid is the price of the lot. There is no buyer's premium, and GST is included. Delivery and transit protection are quoted before you bid. One delivery charge per auction: $19 plus 2.5% of your total winning bids. The $19 is charged once, not per item. Includes transit protection.
How does a maximum (proxy) bid work?
You set a private ceiling and the house bids for you - up to your maximum, using the auction increments and any applicable reserve. Your maximum is private while you lead, but it can become the visible price when another bidder reaches it. Try the practice auction with no purchases or payments.
Can I be sniped at the last second?
An accepted bid that changes the current price during the closing window resets the countdown. Raising your maximum without changing the current price does not extend it. The lot closes when its server countdown expires. Allow time for your bid to reach the server.
Do I have to be there for the live close?
No. Every catalogue opens early - a bid or maximum you leave beforehand competes for you when the lot goes live. Win awake or asleep.
When and how do I pay?
We prepare invoices after the auction. We email you a payment link when your invoice is ready. Everything you win in an auction arrives on one invoice. Pay by card through our Shopify checkout. Payment is due within 72 hours after your invoice is sent.
How is my parcel shipped?
Within Australia, with tracking and signature on delivery. Teals bears the transit risk until delivery. See Shipping for how we cover that risk. Your wins from one auction ship together. The $19 delivery fee is charged once, not per item; 2.5% applies to the combined winning bids.
What if my item isn't as described?
Your rights under the Australian Consumer Law apply. Report a problem from My Wins or contact us. Available remedies depend on the nature of the problem. We do not offer change-of-mind returns.
What should I check before bidding?
Read the lot description, photographs, condition and any supporting documents. For gemstones, check whether the stone is natural or lab-grown, its treatment information and any laboratory report. Ask us about missing or unclear details before bidding.
Who am I bidding against?
Nobody bids against you but other buyers. House and staff accounts cannot bid. Maximum bids can compete automatically on behalf of buyers.
Is there a reserve?
Some lots carry one, and the lot always says so. When a reserve is public we show the figure; when it's met the room says so. No-reserve lots sell to the highest bid, full stop.
